Battle Creek Thermophore Classic™ Deep-Heat™ Therapy Pack™ - Large is the largest size -- a generous 14" x 27" unit - nearly twice the size of most standard heating pads. Finally, a product that provides an area of heat therapy large enough to cover the entire spinal area, the length of a hip and leg or all across both shoulders, to effectively relieve pain and relax all the associated muscles - not just one small, isolated point
The application of moist heat (formentation) is a commonly prescribed therapy in medical practice today, and the Thermophore Hot Pack is the method physicians recommend most often. Moist heat increases circulation and speeds recovery by bringing in fresh blood cells and taking away the wastes which may hinder healing.
Simple and mess free! The Thermophore Hot Pack produces moist heat automatically by drawing moisture from humidity in the air and retaining it in the hot pack's outer flannel cover.
The Thermophore is more effective than other electric heating pads on the market because it delivers very intense, moist heat.
A hand held momentary switch, controlled by the user, turns the hot pack on and off, and allows the user to maintain the highest temperature possible. The momentary switch must be held "on" to allow the unit to heat, released while cooling to normal body temperature. To be effective a formentation treatment is a series of intense moist heat alternated with cooling periods.
Safe! This treatment can be so relaxing, often the user may fall asleep. If so the pressure on the switch is released and the unit immediately shuts off.
